Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated
CallMOR connects businesses with their customers over the same networks everyone's phone depends on. Keeping those networks usable means keeping spam, robocalls and abuse off them. This policy says what is not allowed.
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to every company with a CallMOR account and to everyone who uses CallMOR through one. It forms part of our Terms of Service. If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask us before you send it.
2. Texting
Only send texts people have agreed to receive. Specifically:
- No spam and no unsolicited texts. Text a person only with the consent the message requires — and for marketing messages, their prior express written consent.
- No purchased, rented, shared or scraped lists of phone numbers.
- Honour STOP and other opt-out requests straight away, and do not text that number again unless the person opts back in.
- Identify your business in your messages, and stay within the purpose of your registered 10DLC campaign.
- Respect quiet hours and the time-of-day limits that apply where your recipients are.
- Do not spread messages across extra numbers, or change wording, to get around carrier filtering.
3. Calling
- No robocalls: no calls using an autodialer, an artificial or prerecorded voice, or a cloned voice without the consent the law requires.
- No spoofed or misleading caller ID.
- Respect the National Do Not Call Registry and your own do-not-call list for sales calls.
4. Content that is not allowed
- Anything illegal, or that promotes illegal activity or goods.
- Fraud, phishing, scams, impersonation or deceptive offers.
- Harassment, threats, hate speech or content that exploits or endangers children.
- Sexual content.
- Content carriers restrict — such as alcohol, firearms, tobacco and cannabis — unless your registered campaign allows it and you meet the carriers' conditions, such as age checks.
- High-risk financial offers carriers do not allow, such as payday loans and debt-relief schemes.
- Malware, or links to it.
5. Security and fair use
- Do not try to reach another company's data, probe or test our systems without permission, or get around access controls, limits or billing.
- Do not overload the service or use it in a way that harms its operation for others.
- Do not use forms or documents to collect full card numbers or other people's passwords. Use text-to-pay to take payments.
- Store protected health information only after a Business Associate Agreement is in place with CallMOR.
6. Your responsibility under the TCPA and 10DLC rules
Your business is the sender of its texts and the caller on its calls. Complying with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, state laws, carrier rules and 10DLC registration is your responsibility. CallMOR's consent records, STOP handling and registration checks help you do it; they do not do it for you.
7. What happens if this policy is broken
We may block messages or calls, remove content, suspend a service or the whole account, or close the account, depending on how serious the problem is. Carriers can also block traffic on their own. Where the law requires it, we report illegal activity.
8. Reporting abuse
If you receive unwanted texts or calls from a CallMOR number, or see something on CallMOR that breaks this policy, write to support@callmor.ai with the number, the time and what was sent. Replying STOP to a text also stops further texts from that number.
